5 Reasons why you’ll Love the New Google Nexus Phones!

Nexus Phones

Google officially revealed its latest batch of Nexus smartphones at the end of September. Both the Google Nexus 6P and 5X are promising big things going into the final part of the year, all with the bigtime company’s backing. But should you really be that excited to get your hands on the new devices?

We think you should be, and here are five reasons to back our case – because we don’t just talk the talk, you know?

Top Notch Displays!

The new Nexus phones are here!

The new Google Nexus duo look brilliant! But can they really compete with some of the best phablets on the market?

In truth, the jury is still out when it comes to 4K displays, so it’s no surprise at all to see Google dodge the ultra HD screens for now. However, with the Nexus 6P opting for a 5.7” QHD effort, you’ll still be getting a top quality screen to make use of.

Colours are more colourful, pictures are incredibly bright, and video is at a better quality than you can find anywhere short of 4K. As a whole, it’s an astonishing display which is a real upgrade over many others on the market.

The LG Nexus 5X is a little bit more modest, with a 5.2” 1080p effort. However, this still does a superb job and is nothing to be frowned at considering its smaller price tag.

Fingerprint Fun!

More fingerprint scanning for Google fans!

It’s a craze which has hit the smartphone market like no other. But it seems that it’s showing no signs of slowing down just yet, as both Nexus phones rock rear based fingerprint scanners that work identically to Touch ID on the likes of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

It works by linking to mobile security and mobile payment technology, meaning that you can gain access to apps and the phone itself via the scanner, as well as paying for goods using Android Pay. Also, the scanner improves the more and more you use it, so you can ensure that after a few days using it that you won’t be getting any misread prints anytime soon!

USB Type C Charging!

USB-C brings any side up charging to the masses!

Let’s face it, most non-Apple smartphone users have been a bit jealous of the ‘any side up’ charging capabilities that come along with those swanky Lightning cables iPhones have been using of late.

Well know you needn’t be envious of your iOS sporting counterparts, as both new Google Nexus models sport USB-C connections, which like Lightning cables can work whichever way it’s plugged in.

As well as saving valuable seconds when plugging the phone in, the charger port also allows for quicker recharging as well, so you’ll be able to get hours’ worth of battery after just a few minutes plugged in.

Marshmallow Time!

Android Lollipop is no more with Marshmallow joining the fray!

No, we’re not talking about the kind you hold over an open fire and eat whilst telling scary stories! Android Marshmallow, the operating system, is debuting on both Nexus phones and offers the first way to use the Android system for the majority of fans.

It brings a stylish design and a host of new features for us to make use of, with the likes of Now on Tap, Doze Mode and native fingerprint support all in a classic Google fashion.

Obviously, other smartphones will be packing the operating system in the future, but if you want the first bite of the cherry, the Nexus phones are your best way of jumping in first.

Fancy Designs

Both Nexus phones look great...

Sure, it’s pretty shallow, but the way your phone looks is important, and there aren’t too many that look better than this Google duo.

The Nexus 6P is obviously the better looking of the pair with its full metallic construction and bi-colour back chassis, but the 5X still looks pretty darn good with its simplistic and modern take on its design.

Admit it, you won’t be even slightly worried about pulling either of these phones out in front of your friends and family would you?
