LG K10 2017 review
Our LG K10 2017 review finds an affordable mid-ranger with a fingerprint sensor and metallic frame catching the eye. The concept has been well-considered and the pre-loaded LG apps and the Android Nougat OS are two more reasons to choose the LG K10 2017 as your new affordable smartphone.
If you need a really cheap smartphone, then check out the deals for the LG K8 2017 and LG K4 2017 instead.
The LG K10 2017 improves upon the look of its original rendition, through the use of a curved metallic frame. This meets a polycarbonate back that has a metallic-looking brushed effect and 2.5D Arc glass on the front.

This mixture of build materials seems to work well as this LG phone weighs only 142g and has a body that is 7.9mm thick.
HD and octa-core performance
The LG K10 2017 has a large 5.3” display with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels). Sure, we would like to have seen Full HD resolution but this is where we have to accept the balance of price versus spec.
New: HTC U11 review
There is a 1.5GHz MediaTek octa-core processor with 2GB RAM powering the experience. This is plenty enough processing power for anyone not looking for a premium flagship smartphone experience.
Phone Set Up
Security and customisation
The LG K10 2017 pinches a premium phone feature by including a fingerprint scanner, positioned on the rear face of the phone. The fingerprint scanner can be used to secure and unlock the phone.
The alternatives to biometrics on this phone includes Knock Code, Pattern, PIN or Password security.
Should you have content or data on an old smartphone or iPhone, then you can transfer it over, with relative ease onto the 16GB internal memory. Should you max out this internal memory, then you can boost it through the microSD card slot.
New: LG K8 2017 review
LG has delivered the freedom for plenty of customisation on the K10 2017. You can edit the Home touch buttons and add a forth and fifth button, for features like QSlide, Capture+ (screenshot) or Notifications.
You can customise the keyboard height, split the keyboard in half or move the keyboard to the side, for one-handed operation. You can also visit LG SmartWorld for games, apps, fonts, themes and audio content.
Nougat OS and apps
The LG K10 2017 offers one of the least expensive ways to get hold of a smartphone with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. One of the latest innovations that you can enjoy is multi-window multi-tasking. Here you can do cool things like watching a video on the top half of the screen, while scrolling through the posts of your favourite social network on the bottom half.
Pre-loaded apps includes LG Music, QuickMemo+, Evernote, Facebook, Instagram, Chrome, Duo, Maps, Sheets and Slides, along with quite a few others. For ease of access, you can also activate KnockON, where a double tap turns the screen on or off.
Camera & Video
13MP main camera
The 13MP main camera has an ultra bright F2.2 lens along with a typical set of camera features, such as HDR, Cheese shutter and Burst shot. You will notice that there is a Quick Share icon in the preview window, allowing you to easily share a video on social media or through a messaging app.
5MP selfie camera
The 5MP wide angle selfie camera allows you to shoot with a 120-degrees field of view, which is great for capturing group selfies or the scenery of your location. You can also shoot in with a 71-degrees standard field of view, which is great for solo selfies.

Again, there is a F2.2 lens to capture more light and to trigger the shutter you can either us Gesture Shot or Auto Shot with Face Detection. With Auto Shot you just steady the phone and with no button presses the selfie camera takes the photo.
Medium capacity battery
The battery has a medium capacity of 2,800mAh and if reserves run low, then there are two ways to tackle the situation. The battery is removable so you could swap it out if you are prepared to pay for a second battery. Alternatively you can run the phone in battery saver mode.
